If you are concerned about opening your pool while the Coronavirus pandemic is still at crisis level, at Goodall Pools & Spas, we can help. We strive to provide you with the best advice and service during this difficult time. And yes, this is an excellent time to open your pool.
This has been a relatively mild winter with temperatures primarily in the 40s and 50s. This makes spring the ideal time to open your pool. Opening it now should prevent some of the long-term issues you may face, like algae.
Opening Your Pool Now After a Mild Winter
The traditional time for opening a pool has been on Memorial Day. This year, with the mild winter, it is not a good idea to wait that long. Now is the time to get the pool cleaned, the water balanced, and the water circulating.
Costs will not go up by opening the pool early. For example, even if the pump runs more than it might if you opened it later, you may spend less overall since getting the pool open now will prevent the cost of later dealing with a green pool.
Advantages of Opening a Pool Now During the Coronavirus Scare
People are telling us about vacation plans that had to be canceled due to the pandemic and they hope to open their pools now. This is a good way to focus on a “staycation” and turn their backyards into vacation spots.
We have no idea when the stay-at-home orders will be eased, but now is the time to get outside, quit staring at the four walls, and enjoy your backyard swimming pool. During the uncertainty of what the coronavirus will bring, it can be a mood booster to take off the pool cover and open the pool now even if it will not be warm enough to swim in it immediately.
Goodall Pools & Spas, Chemicals, and Water Testing
We now have it set up so you can order your chemicals online and pick them up curbside. If the cost is $50 or more, we can deliver them to you.
We are still doing water testing. You can leave the sample outside the store. We will then test it and email you the results.
